When you think of Easter egg hunts, images of colorful eggs and eager children usually come to mind. But what happens when you take that tradition and throw foam into the mix? Custer Marketing and Foam Bash teamed up to create something entirely new for the community: Foam and Eggs, a foam-filled twist on the classic Easter egg hunt.
Even with unpredictable Ohio spring weather and challenges along the way, the event was a huge success, drawing in hundreds of families and leaving everyone talking about it. Here's how we pulled it off.
The goal for Foam Bash was clear: bring something fresh to the table that would engage families and make their event stand out from the typical egg hunts. Foam Bash added its signature foam element to create a fun-filled, memorable experience for the community.
Custer Marketing aimed to reach full capacity and build an event that would make families want to return year after year. Our focus was on creating a lasting impression that wasn’t just fun for the kids but something parents would look forward to as well.elp guide your event marketing services and all other efforts.
Of course, every great event comes with its challenges, and the Ohio spring weather didn’t make things easy. On the day of the event, it was cold and rainy, and we had to cancel our Medina location, leaving us with just one venue in Ashland. Despite this, the excitement for the Foam and Eggs event never wavered.
We were prepared to face the weather, but that didn’t stop families from showing up in droves to experience something new and exciting for Easter.
We knew people loved traditional egg hunts, but there’s rarely anything new added to them. That’s why Foam Bash’s idea of adding foam was such a hit—it was the kind of twist people didn’t know they needed. Parents loved seeing their kids have fun in a completely new way, and kids couldn’t get enough of playing in the foam while hunting for eggs.
Custer Marketing’s strategy centered on building a sense of community and making families excited to attend. We utilized Facebook groups, Google Ads, and local business partnerships to spread the word, showing parents how much fun their kids could have. Local businesses like Honey Haven Farm and The Press Café also played a crucial role in promoting and supporting the event.
Even though we could only hold the event at one of the two planned locations, we still had over 200 registrations and close to 500 people in attendance. That’s no small feat considering the weather conditions.
The success of this event didn’t just stop with attendance. We saw a big jump in community interest around Foam Bash and the local businesses involved. People were excited about this new event and couldn’t wait for it to return next year.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive:
We even had Ashland County Ohio News come out, and they wrote a post about the event. Tony wrote this about the event "The kids from all ages had a blast playing in the foam looking the plastic eggs." You can read more here.
Of course, no event is without room for improvement. Some attendees noted long lines and suggested better separation for older and younger kids during the egg hunts. We’re taking that feedback to heart and making sure next year’s event is even better!
Foam and Eggs proved that with the right mix of creativity, community engagement, and strategic marketing, even a rainy day couldn’t stop this event from becoming a hit.
We didn’t just host an Easter egg hunt; we created a tradition that families will look forward to for years to come. And it’s safe to say that Foam Bash and Custer Marketing’s partnership will continue to deliver unique experiences that bring communities together in fun and memorable ways.
